Private/Group Trauma Conscious Yoga

Private yoga lessons with Sonali Sadequee are a delivery of Alignment-based Trauma Conscious yoga.
Her teachings on alignment are inspired by master teacher, Aadil Palkhivala, who comes from the B.K. S. Iyenger lineage of yogic sciences. She is also trained by David Emerson of the Trauma Center of Justice Resource Institute to bring her students a dynamic yoga journey that pays close attention to supporting her students to train and transform their nervous system with proper alignment, breat-work, and spirit-infused meditations. With many years experience supporting private clients, Sonali emphasizes safety and personal attention and instruction in her classes.

 What is Trauma Sensitive Yoga?

A “trauma sensitive” yoga class is taught differently from the yoga class we are familiar with in general yoga classes.  A typical yoga class may not be comfortable or relaxing to a trauma survivor and in fact may feel dangerous and scary.  A trauma survivor can be an adult survivor of childhood abuse, a domestic violence survivor, a survivor of sexual assault, someone who was in a horrible accident, or war veteran dealing with PTSD.
An essential aspect of recovering from trauma is learning ways to calm down, or self-regulate. For thousands of years, Yoga has been offered as a practice that helps one calm the mind and body. More recently, research has shown that Yoga practices, including meditation, relaxation, and physical postures, can reduce autonomic sympathetic activation, muscle tension, and blood pressure, improve neuroendocrine and hormonal activity, decrease physical symptoms and emotional distress, and increase quality of life. The gifts of private lessons with Sonali go beyond her technical knowledge of yoga and postures. She is observant and intuitive. She has an incredible ability to tune into what will be helpful on a given day. Her teaching style inspires confidence, greater awareness, and connection to heart and spirit.
Private lessons are for all levels of students from complete beginners to advanced students. Sonali specializes in keeping the body safe during your yoga practice and helping you pair your yoga journey with a nutritional regimen so that you may benefit from an over all lifestyle balance.
She offers innovative ways to enable private clients to continue to practice yoga while on the go. With an individually tailored program, clients progress continually – creating vibrant health, calmness of mind and connection to heart's wisdom.
Sonali is known for her spirit driven and mindful teaching style, compassion and ability to inspire and build confidence regardless of one’s age or yoga experience. She has a keen eye for precise alignment and provides hands-on adjustments that are beneficial to each individual. With ten years of experience, Sonali is empathetic and intuitive, knowing when to encourage clients to work harder and the wisdom to hold them back when they've had enough.
 
Each private lesson is 60 minutes, booked in advance at a time and day convenient to each client. Bookings are accepted both on a weekly and/or monthly basis.
As with our long-term private sessions, we work with a limited number of premier clients to develop a customized session based on their individual needs and goals, and support them in a comfortable, one-on-one environment. We make sure that we deliver our classes with quality level of professionalism and discretion. We are able to work with clients in their suite, studio, office, and residents and can accommodate appointments outside of the immediate metro Atlanta area. Lessons can be made available for existing clients using Skype as well. We also offer private sessions or yoga retreats for individuals who are traveling.
Privates start at $95/hour, which may increase depending on the distance the instructor has to travel, the length of class, and the size of class.

If you would like the convenience of yoga in your home or office Sonali can come to you. Prices below are for a maximum driving time of 20 min (each way). Mats and props can be provided initially, though for ongoing clients Sonali will make suggestions on what to purchase. Please note individual lessons and packages expire 6 months after purchase.

Private Yoga Immersion Retreat
Bookings for all-day private Sustainable Wellness Yoga experience is available both for intown and out of town clients. Your private retreat package will involve daily yoga, rawfoods, meditation, chakra balancing energy-work, and inspirational workshop on spiritual transformation.

Cancellation/Make-up Policy
Cancellations made two or less days within scheduled time will incur $45 fee.
There is no refund for no call/no show clients.
Make-up sessions must be scheduled within 2 weeks of ending/canceling sessions.
